Payab Zamzam company started designing and manufacturing instruments for geotechnical applications in 1998.  Our main aim was to produce domestic products based on the needs and abilities of local contractors to install and to operate these instruments in a safe and fast manner. The instruments or services of this company has been used in many projects around Iran.  You can have a closer look at our reference jobs as well.

Payab Zamzam company has been selected as the best instrumentation company in Iran during the 2nd International water Exhibition in Iran in 2002 and was awarded a prize for its innovations there.

This pdf is our company profile in addition to the present web site.

Our booth as the largest instrument manufacturer in Iran was visited by the Minister of Energy, Mr. Bitaraf during the last International Water Exhibition (the 3rd).

As the largest geotechnical instrument manufacturer in Iran, we design and manufacture the instruments in our factory.  Trusting our unique team of engineers who are quite familiar with designing, manufacturing and operating of instruments, we make installation and performance of instrumentation projects very successful.

The following is a list of the most typical instruments manufactured by this company:

Borehole Extensometer is used to measure movements of soil and rock between two points along the axis of a borehole. Extensometers are manufactured in a variety of types each one designed for a particular application.

Load Cells are designed to measure axial loads in rock bolts, cable bolts, tiebacks and anchors.  The bolt usually passes through its central hole and a plate and nut will fasten the bolt tight to the cell.

Hydraulic Pressure Cells are designed to measure the total pressure (effective stress and pore-water pressure) acting on a plane surface, such as rock-shotcrete or rock-concrete contact.  This can also be used for stress determination in the rock by simply embedding the instrument into a slot made in the rock mass.

Convergence Meter is a portable device to measure convergence and deformation of excavated tunnels and other underground openings.  The device measures the relative distance between reference points (anchors) fixed to the periphery of the excavation.

Jointmeter  is a device for monitoring surface deformations caused by cracks and other discontinuities.
Shotcrete Strain Gauge is an electrical device which is meant to measure the induced strains in the shotcrete.

Tiltmeter  is a device for monitoring tilt of the structures caused by adjacent excavations.

Pullout device is an assembly to check the pullout capacity of rock bolts and anchors.

Electrical Piezometer is used to determine the ground water pressure or level. The electrical sensor built in it is a piezoresistive based transducer which converts the change in water pressure into electrical current which can be seen using a portable readout unit.

Water level meter is used to determine the level of ground water in boreholes and wells.  This consists of a wheel of cable to the desired length and a probe in which buzzes when touches the water.  The cable is graded in meters and a potentiometer is built in the wheel to adjust the sensitivity for different fluids.

LVDT's provide an extremely reliable solution for a precise linear displacement (position) and gauging measurement.  They are used wherever a physical quantity can be converted to linear displacement.  The construction of the device prevents direct contact between the moving and the stationary part and therefore insures long operational life.

Settlement cell are typically used for monitoring settlement below embankments on soft ground.

Inclinometers are defined as devices to monitor inclinations vertical direction.  A probe containing a gravity- sensing transducer passes along a pipe and converts inclination to a measurable voltage at any depth.

Automatic data acquisition systems, as the name implies, are products and/ or processes used to collect Information to document or analyze some phenomenon.

Borehole Camera is an image processing device which can be lowered inside a bore hole for obtaining the geological information of the rock mass in geotechnical applications.

A sample film from our logging can be seen in here.

V-Notch or Weir is a metal piece which is used to measure the water leakage from the dams.
