Payab Zamzam Group - Ground Anchoring

Ground anchoring and post tensioning are two methods of reinforcing structures with low tensile strength (such as concrete and rock). This is made possible using high strength steel strands (cables or tendons) or monobars. In many cases, these reinforcing systems allow constructions that would be impossible because of either site constraints or architectural requirements.

Applications

There are many applications for these systems such as buildings, bridges, rock and soil anchors, foundations and oil tanks.

Component & Design

The main component of a tendon is usually standard cable strand which is seven straight wires wounded in a helical form according to ASTM 416 standard. To obtain different frictional properties, the shape of the standard cable can be changed to the so called "modified geometry cables". The CABLE software (Computer Aided Bolt Load Estimation) owned by the company can calculate the load built up along all types of cable bolts.

Operation

A rock or soil tendon is a bonded system. Typically, a hole is drilled into the peripheral of an excavation or hillside. The tendon is inserted into the hole and the empty space in the hole is filled with grout cement. Once the grout has reached sufficient strength, the tendon is stressed.

Activities

Our company is equipped with drilling machines and grout pumps and other facilities which is required for successfully performing sophisticated ground anchoring jobs. Collaboration between Payab Zamzam Group and reputable foreign companies such as OVM, VSL and SAH has opened a new field in the companies activities. Ground anchoring services using steel strands provided by OVM company and monobars provided by SAH company is available by Payab Zamzam team.
