Load Cells are designed to measure axial loads in rock bolts, cable bolts, tiebacks and anchors.  The bolt usually passes through its central hole and a plate and nut will fasten the bolt tight to the cell. This system can be based on hydraulic or strain gage technology. All types of this instrument is designed and manufactured in our machine shop.

Applications

Typical applications of load cells include :

Determination of load in the tiebacks, rock bolts, and other anchor systems.

Long-term monitoring of the load in ground anchors

Measurement of the load in the post tensioning elements.

Special Features

Small size and ease of installation

Long term stability and durability using corrosion resistant materials

Low profile (as low as 20 mm for limited space cases)

Various capacities available (50-2000 kN)

Ability to be automatically read and data logged

Some of the load cells for lower range of loads are designed in a lighter version which makes their installation very fast and easy.  A picture of which is depicted bellow.  These are very cost effective ones as well.

All load cells are leak tested after welding and then pulished.

The final stage of a load cell preparation is the calibration test.
